Slot Asserts He Feels Safe and Has The Club's Support Following PSV Eindhoven Loss

Arne Slot admitted that it's understandable for concerns to be raised about his future after another heavy defeat versus the Dutch champions.

Liverpool suffered their ninth defeat in twelve games, representing the team's poorest run after being relegated in 1953-54.

They were dominated by the Dutch league title holders on a tough night at Anfield.

“I'm confident, I am OK, I've received a lot of support from management,” the coach remarked.

“It would be nice to turn it around and earn three points obviously but when you're in a managerial role and underperforming then it's expected that doubts arise.”

He added, “I accept my situation. This isn't the first time I’ve been in a difficult position but it is about time that we changed our fortunes.”

Discussions with Liverpool Hierarchy

Upon being questioned to expand on his discussions with the Liverpool hierarchy, the head coach said:

“We talk a lot. They assist to the team and to me and we discuss these matters but they don't phone me every single minute each day to say they back me.”

He further stated, “In the normal conversations we have I feel the belief. However I've not talked to them since this game so far so let’s see.”

Recurring Problems and Player Reaction

Slot expressed regret over familiar failings from his Liverpool side in their Champions League loss, specifically wasted chances and defensive lapses.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was more direct in his assessment of the club’s predicament.

“I haven't got the answers. Frankly, I do not. I’m saying that to everybody,” Jones remarked.

“It's simply not good enough. I don't need to wait to consider it. I’m past getting mad inside. I've reached the stage now where I just don’t have the words.”

He added, “It’s hard because I’m playing for the team I support. I’m a fan, and I’ve seen this club since I was young.”

“In a long, long time, I've not seen a Reds side going through a spell like this with outcomes this poor.”

Jones concluded, “But we continue to wear that badge on our shirts. And as long as that badge is taken away, we'll continue to fight.”

“Our aim is to bring this squad back to its rightful place, demonstrate to all once more the values of this club and why it's known as the best team in the planet.”

“However currently, we're in trouble and we have to turn it around.”
