David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The author

Prolific young adult author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was made after an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour towards young women.

The firm did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

He has published in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
