Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many fans into the National Football League

That result may have opened things up for the Patriots to move back into a leading position they formerly held, with a schedule that gives them an advantage over their 8-2 rivals

Over in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash next week, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the MVP award

The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen attempt too much or was it just a bad day for Buffalo?

Was it just an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Buffalo team to address

The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against Miami but were second best from the start as the Miami team ran out 30-13 victors in an surprising outcome - and performance

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the squad's initial first down in the third quarter and first points in the fourth - admittedly Miami had ten days to get ready but it was nonetheless a significant failure laid by one of the NFL's best offenses

Tua Tagovailoa passed for two scores but rusher Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 total yards and two scores

Containing the league's best rushing attack was also key, with Cook and teammates recording just 86 yards, their lowest of the year and just over half their 161.5-yard average

Additionally there were the three critical ball losses, and the pair from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the scoring area resulting in a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his final quarter dropped ball that Miami turned into seven points just later

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defense and Josh Allen attempting to overcompensate to dig his team from the situation - rather than the composed, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've witnessed this season

Miami have demonstrated a varied performances this season so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the beginning of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the Patriots are quietly moving into a nice lead at the top of the American Football Conference East

In Focus - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed

Regarding the Patriots, they're one of three different 8-2 squads in the NFL, all American Football Conference teams, but could they be the top team?

You can pick holes in New England, Denver and the Colts really for dominating the weaker opponents, with just five of their total twenty-four wins achieved against teams with a positive record - and one of those was the Indianapolis defeating the Denver

The Broncos defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the final quarter while Indy can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their prime time win in Buffalo appears to be a declaration

Their two defeats came in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's first three games, with seven consecutive wins, similar to the Broncos, since then - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to get ready was significant

Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he certainly deserves point for bravery after taking some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but persevering to guide his side to victory

The defense is reliable and first-year running back TreVeyon Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 yards and two exhilerating scores of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth different runner to exceed 22 miles per hour this year on his first score

While you can argue who 'the best' is statistically, the Patriots should be favorites to end with the best record thanks to their schedule - which features just one game against a winning team, albeit a significant contest against the Bills

Visiting the Ravens is challenging too, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to face two times, the Chargers (who might also compete for first place but encounter the identical challenge) and also the Packers on the fixture list

The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two games with the 5-4 Jacksonville to contend with. There's a long way to go but the door is available for a shock number one position in the AFC

Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Set for Week 11 Showdown

Two teams with solid claims to be superior to all of the three 8-2 sides are National Football Conference West rivals the Seattle and Los Angeles, who each scored 40 burgers to go to seven and two before next week's Hollywood blockbuster game between the two in LA

Both have secured four victories in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Darnold performing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units allowing fewer than twenty points a contest

Both could easily be undefeated as too - especially the Los Angeles as their pair of losses occurred in extra time against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning kick with the final play blocked and returned by the Philadelphia for a score

Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before falling to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are genuinely among the top teams in the league

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season to date
